Saying that 2020 did not quite turn out the way we expected it, is an understatement! The BRB team was looking forward to sending you on amazing adventures across Europe this summer, but it would appear as though Covid had a different agenda!
As you know, we used this precious time, working from our own homes, to send out a travel survey to better understand the impact of COVID-19 on your travel plans as well as get some feedback on our service.
We were absolutely amazed by your feedback and today we wanted to tell you about the launch of a new trip type to help you make the most of your BRB savings and Spring / Summer 2021!
A large number of you wanted longer breaks or the ability to pick the number of days when creating a BRB trip.
Whilst Tony (our CTO) and his team need a little bit of time to allow you to pick the number of days within your BRB account when creating a new trip, we wanted to let you know that we want to be as flexible as possible in the interim period and that you can already use your BRB savings to take longer holidays by combining BRB breaks, either in a single location (e.g. 5 days beach break) or by choosing one of our back-to-back city break (e.g. 2 European cities in a single 5-day trip).
Not all of us have managed to get away this year and so to make the most of the funds you have saved in 2019, why not combine two (or three) trips together and spend 5 days and 4 nights in 2020, exploring an amazing European city or relaxing on the beach?
By combing two trips (or more) into one, you get added benefits:
• Less CO2 emissions: Two less flight segments means a lower overall carbon footprint
• More immersive experience: More time means that you get to truly immerse yourself in the culture of each city
• Better quality accommodation: Less flying means we can offer even better hotels and rooms! Not that we needed to, but it’s good to know you’ll be looked after in 2021
• More time to relax: No need to run around trying to see all the sights and sample all the foods in 48 hours. Take your time and explore at your own pace.
If spending 5 days and 4 nights in cities such as Barcelona, Split, Nice or Athens isn’t your thing, why not join two trips together and see two cities in a single back-to-back trip?
Krakow followed by Barcelona, Prague followed by Nice, Split followed by Amsterdam…the possibilities are endless. Well, with 70 destinations across Europe, the exact number of back-to-back city breaks you could go on is 2,415...but who is counting?
By combining two separate trips into one back-to-back city break, you’ll enjoy:
• Less CO2 emissions: Two less flight segments means a lower overall carbon footprint
• More culture: By combining two of your favourite cities, you get to experience two very different cutlures in a single break, a great way to make even more incredible memories!
• Better quality accommodation: Less flying means we can offer even better hotels and rooms! Not that we needed to, but it’s good to know you’ll be looked after in 2021
We know that as a subscriber to BRB you love travel as much as we do. While some of you have managed to sneak in a trip away in 2020, for others it has been a travel ‘desert’. 2021 is going to be different and we are going to help you get away on amazing European adventures!
To create a longer trip with BRB, whether you want to explore back-to-back cities or a single destination for a longer time, the process is very simple:
Step 1: Create a trip in your BRB account - with the start date as the date you want to depart (trips are 3 days by default but don't worry about that – the team will override this when updating your trip preferences!)
Step 2: Send an email to your travel concierge at hello@brb.travel or drop us a message using the chat tool on our website to let us know 1) how long you want to travel for and 2) if you would like to do a multi-city trip or one location for a long time.
Step 3: The team will update your trip details accordingly and will start putting your trip together 3 months before departure.
Step 4: Sit back, relax and keep an eye out for your reveal email and your BRB postcards (yes, you’ll get 2 separate cards in one envelope!) dropping through the letterbox to find out where you’re going!
